1. Who we are

The NoticiaLingo team is the data controller for your account information. Contact us at privacy@noticialingo.com with any questions.

2. What data we collect

  • Account email and Google OAuth profile fields (where applicable).
  • Lesson progress, exercise answers, streaks, and earned achievements.
  • AI Teacher chat history (premium accounts only).
  • Theme preferences and selected interests.

3. Why we collect it

To provide the learning service, personalise lessons for premium users, and improve content quality. We do not sell personal data.

4. Legal basis

We process account data under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract). Optional marketing emails introduced in a later phase will rely on Article 6(1)(a) (consent), and you will be able to withdraw at any time.

6. Data retention

Active accounts: retained until you delete the account. Deleted accounts: purged from the live database immediately and from backups within 90 days. Server logs: retained 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR you can exercise rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21), and protection from automated decisions (Art. 22).

8. In-app self-service

From the Settings page you can download a JSON export of your data and permanently delete your account.

9. Cookies

We use first-party authentication cookies only. Phase 20 introduces observability tooling that may add additional cookies; this page will be updated at that time.

10. Children

NoticiaLingo is not intended for children under 13 in the United States or under 16 in the European Union.

11. International transfers

We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers to US-based sub-processors.

12. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in-app and via email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
